What are Robinhood stock tokens?
Robinhood stock tokens are ERC-20 tokens on Robinhood Chain representing tokenized US equities and ETFs — over 200 instruments including AAPL, NVDA and TSLA. They use 18 decimals and extend ERC-20 with ERC-8056, the Scaled UI Amount Extension.
The ERC-8056 extension is what makes them behave like equities rather than ordinary tokens. Dividends and splits adjust a shares-per-token multiplier instead of minting or burning, so a holder's raw balance stays constant while the position's value changes.
Because dividends are reinvested through the multiplier rather than paid out, a stock token tracks the total return of its underlying — price appreciation plus reinvested dividends — not just the share price.
Robinhood publishes free, unauthenticated REST endpoints for asset metadata, live prices and corporate actions under https://api.robinhood.com/rhj/, rate-limited to 60 requests per second.
